Set up your Orderly account
This guide takes you from an access code to a working Orderly organization with your first commerce and shipping connections.
Start account setupCreate your account and organization
- Enter the access code supplied by Orderly or your administrator. Access codes can expire, so use the newest code you received.
- Enter your name, work email, and a password of at least eight characters.
- Enter your company name. Orderly creates your first organization from it and selects that organization for the rest of setup.
- Click Create Account to start the setup wizard.
Already have an account? Use Sign in instead. If you were invited to an existing organization, follow the invitation link so you join the correct organization rather than creating another one.
Tell Orderly how you operate
The first two wizard steps tailor setup to your business.
Choose what you sell
Select the option that best describes your catalog:
- Physical Goods for products that need to be shipped.
- Digital Products for downloads, licenses, or services.
- Subscription Boxes for recurring physical shipments.
- Mixed when more than one model applies.
Choose how you ship
Select I ship orders myself when you buy labels from carriers or a shipping platform. Select I use a 3PL when a fulfillment partner handles shipping. If you use a 3PL, enter its name so your organization settings reflect that workflow.
These choices do not lock features. You can still connect additional stores, carriers, and fulfillment platforms later.
Connect your platforms
The wizard next offers two optional connection steps.
Connect a commerce platform
Choose your store or marketplace, enter a recognizable connection name, and complete its authentication flow. OAuth platforms such as Shopify redirect you to the platform to approve access. API-key platforms ask for credentials directly.
When the connection succeeds, the wizard records the bridge and advances. Use Skip for now if you do not have credentials ready; you can add the same connection later under Bridges.
Connect a shipping platform
If you ship orders yourself, connect the carrier or shipping platform that creates labels and fulfillment updates. If a 3PL handles shipping, you can skip this step or connect a provider when one is available for your workflow.
A bridge synchronizes operational data with a commerce, shipping, or fulfillment platform. A carrier account supplies negotiated rates, pickups, and labels for supported carriers. Finish onboarding with bridges, then add carrier accounts if you need rating or pickups.
Verify the setup
The final wizard screen summarizes what was connected. Click Go to Dashboard, then run these checks:
- Open Bridges and confirm each new connection is active.
- Click Sync now on the commerce bridge.
- Open Orders and confirm an order appears.
- Open the bridge's Tasks & Schedules → History tab and confirm the run completed successfully.
- Enable real-time webhooks where the platform supports them, or add a schedule for recurring sync.
If you skipped a connection, the dashboard remains usable. Add it from Bridges → Add Bridge when the credentials are ready.
Get to first value
Once orders are flowing, choose one next outcome:
- Route orders automatically to a shipping platform or 3PL.
- Connect a carrier account and quote your negotiated rates.
- Track shipments in one place.
- Create an API key and build your first integration.
- Open Intelligence to monitor delivery risk and carrier performance.
If setup does not complete
- Invalid or expired access code: check for a newer code or ask the person who invited you to issue another.
- Registration fails: confirm the email is not already registered and the password has at least eight characters.
- Connection fails: verify the platform credentials and return to Bridges after finishing the wizard.
- No orders appear: work through Troubleshoot Orderly.
